Job Description:
are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Microfabrication Cleanroom R&D Engineer to join our
dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing microfabrication
processes crucial for our photonic wafer-level packaging technologies. Your work will directly impact
groundbreaking projects, including advancements in quantum computing and photonic integration.
Responsabilities:
• Microfabrication development: design, develop and refine microfabrication process flows in a
cleanroom environment (ISO5), with a focus on UV lithography, Deep Reactive Ion Etching
(DRIE), wafer bonding, and KOH wet etching processes
• Collaborate across teams: work closely with simulation, packaging and international customer
teams to ensure seamless integration of technologies and drive project success
• Drive innovation: participate in interdisciplinary innovation workshops and contribute to
continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes for enhanced production efficiency,
quality and performance
• Represent ICON Photonics: present at international conferences, client meetings and industrial
partnerships, showcasing our cutting-edge technology and expanding our global footprint
Requirements:
• PhD in applied sciences, material engineering, electronics or a related field, with a strong focus
on photonics, semiconductor or MEMS technologies
• Proficiency in cleanroom microfabrication processes, with hands-on experience in Si
micromachining, lithography and etching techniques
• Experience with layout design tools such as Klayout, Virtuoso, Layout editor etc; familiarity with
MEMS processes and optoelectronics upcoming photonics characterizations
• A strong analytical approach, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and develop
innovative solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both French and English
• Demonstrated ability to self-learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a fastpaced environment
