SUMMARY
The Tax Manager is responsible primarily for statutory reporting and taxes. This position builds and leads a team which will specialized in taxes and will provide timely support for any tax requirements. This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for an entity other than ANSYS Japan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage tax team in Finance organization.
  • Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe.
  • Provide innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax returns.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  • Manage and coordinate internal/external tax audit.
  • Maintain tax balances on general ledgers, both in USGAAP and Japan statutory basis.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close and reporting, including quarterly tax provision.
  • Collaborates with accounting team to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure that the accounting / operation is executed in compliant with the internal policies, and accounting regulations
  • Responsible for supporting tax audit, regulatory audit, as well as internal audits
  • Assist if necessary day-to-day operations including data entry, customer invoicing, expense report control and vendor payments. (Volume work sharing with team)
  • Take ownership on special projects, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • About 8 years of experience in accounting, monthly, quarterly, year-end financial closing process.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in statutory reporting and taxes at Japan subsidiary of multi-national company.
  • Understanding tax compliance requirement, including transfer pricing, as well as Japan and U.S. GAAP required, familiarity with IFRS and respective tax laws preferred.
  • Experience in Japan subsidiary of multi-national global company.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in English), with ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic and various company’s culture environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Taxation accountant certification preferred.
  • MBA and /or Accounting Certification (CPA) a plus. USCPA is also plus.
  • Oracle experience a plus
