What are your tasks? 

As a development engineer at you are responsible for the development and optimization of optics and optical systems. In your role as a development engineer

• You are responsible for the development of optical solutions, the construction, experimental optimization and optical characterization.
• You accompany the projects from conception through in-house production to final acceptance and installation at the customer.
• Develop products and processes through independent planning and implementation of test plans.
• ensure high product quality through cooperation with the production departments.
• Work with sales and marketing on the further development of existing products and the development of new ones.

What do we expect from you?

Of course, we have corresponding requirements for the professionally and personally suitable candidate. We expect analytical thinking, the ability to work in a team, resilience and intrinsic motivation. Do you also have other qualities, such as

• a completed engineering degree in the field of technical optics, physical engineering or a degree in mathematics or computer science with numerical programming experience and knowledge of analytical wave optics
• Good knowledge in the design of nano-, micro- and macro-optics (modeling and optimization with ZEMAX, VirtualLab, or similar software)
• Methodological knowledge of wave-optical modelling and experience in its implementation
• Experience in production
• Knowledge and experience in Python, Matlab (Octave) or C/C++
• Experience in using and ideally implementing databases (ideally MS-SQL)
