The “Dummy Laboratory” area in the vehicle safety test field of AUDI AG’s Technical Development is responsible for the function of crash test dummies for use in safety tests.
Crash test dummies are available in many different designs, from an 18-month-old toddler to a 100 kg adult. The test dummies can be equipped with up to 150 measuring sensors and must meet high requirements in terms of durability, biofidelity, repeatability and reproducibility.
This requires detailed knowledge of mechanics, measurement technology and biomechanics.
