Bruyères-le-Châtel, France, Europe

The objective of this physics internship is to study different electromagnetic waves emitted in the ionosphere or the magnetosphere as well as their remote measurement carried out from observation satellites (eg Arase from JAXA and Swarm from ESA) in order to better understand wave-particle interactions in low-orbit space. In particular, the candidate will seek to characterize the propagation of electromagnetic waves and their properties. To do this, he/she will use ray tracing code to process and analyze a set of spatial observations of electromagnetic waves. He/she will use and develop digital codes in Python to analyze the results and satellite measurements, in order to understand the effects of these waves. He/she may be required to calculate the interactions of these waves with energetic electrons, such as, for example, the electrons in the ambient environment of the Van Allen belts. In accordance with the commitments made by the CEA in favor of integration of people with disabilities, this job is open to everyone. Participating in national protection, an administrative investigation is carried out for all CEA employees in order to ensure the integrity and security of the nation.
