In this theoretical course, we will carry out molecular dynamics simulations in order to analyze the results and compare them to atomic models of plasmas. The challenge is to understand what can lead to qualitative differences between these approaches. The student will be able to familiarize themselves with different models of atoms in a plasma, and with molecular dynamics calculations, in collaboration with people involved in these subjects at the CEA. The internship will take place in a CEA/DAM – Ile de France laboratory. The required profile is that of a Master 2 in physics or a final year of engineering school with an interest in theory, comfortable with both analytical calculations and scientific programming.
