VLC Photonics, a young and dynamic company at the forefront of photonic integration, based in the sunny Valencia, Spain, now searching for a new member to be added to its growing team.
We are looking for an R&D Senior Engineer to strengthen our great team.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate internal R&D projects and supervise technical tasks performed by engineers, technicians, and interns.
• Perform technical activities in photonic integration, including feasibility studies, building block design, layout, testing, and packaging.
• Manage technical documentation, reporting, and preparation for deliverables, including internal training sessions.
• Provide technical support to marketing activities, assist with trade fairs, conferences, and meetings with relevant partners.
Requirements:
• Knowledge of PIC fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of Photonic based gas sensing.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, from medium to advanced level.
• Practical experience in using optical laboratory equipment and PIC characterization.
• International Networking Skills: Experience in building and maintaining a professional network at an international level to drive business development and collaborative opportunities.
• Adaptability and Ambition: Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments with a strong drive for growth, expansion, and personal motivation to achieve objectives.
Ideal but not essential
• Spanish – While not essential, Spanish is recommended.
• Engineering degree in Physics, Telecommunications, Microelectronics/RF, Optics/Photonics, Nanotechnology, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. in Optics/Photonics or Semiconductors.
• Additional Languages – Languages other than English, such as Japanese, French, German, Dutch, or others would be beneficial.
