The Product Engineering department is located in the exciting environment between technical development and production. With the aim of enabling a faultless vehicle construction at the start of series production, our department is responsible for ensuring the buildability of chassis and drive components for the factories. The assurance is divided into virtual and physical assurance. Virtual assurance starts in the product development process in the virtual phase before the first physical prototypes are built and uncovers buildability errors at an early stage by analyzing CAD data. In the physical phase, the buildability of the prototypes is assured during construction. At the same time, the construction of the prototypes is used for new and further development as well as for validating virtual methods.

Your task is to develop and validate a method for FEM simulation of the assembly of components with elastomer components based on the procedures and findings from current and past projects. The aim is to carry out this scope of assurance in the virtual phase of the product development process for future vehicle projects in order to identify possible buildability problems at an early stage and to resolve them cost-effectively.
