In the department BEE, several technologies are developed that are essential to the future sustainability of industry. In particular, we focus on (1) industrial heat storage based on phase-change materials (PCM) or sensible heat and (2) high temperature industrial heat pumps, based on compression, thermo-acoustics or sorption technologies. For this work, frequently new internship projects and graduation projects are available. The work focuses on both experimental work, related to materials testing and development and/or prototype testing, as well as numerical work, focusing on thermal performance of prototype designs. The focus of the work (numerical or experimental) can be arranged according to the preferences of the student.
