About the role

This is a busy and varied role that requires a proactive approach to cross-disciplinary collaboration and a commitment to excellence in all phases of product development. This includes designing new products, both from scratch as well as updating current products to new specifications, understanding production capabilities, and focusing on designing innovative solutions to build effective products for our customers. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

Design Leadership: Lead the development of new laser systems from initial concept through to manufacturing, ensuring innovative solutions that meet market needs.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines to design, test, and refine product solutions, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Project and Process Management: Oversee various aspects of engineering projects, including maintaining accurate controls, procedures, and specifications to ensure project milestones are met on time.

Customer-Centric Design: Incorporate customer requirements throughout the design life cycle, ensuring products meet user needs and expectations.

Prototyping and Testing: Build and test initial prototypes to verify that specifications are achieved, and ensure products comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Documentation and Compliance: Responsible for the thorough documentation and release of work through PLM/PDM systems, ensuring all designs meet safety and compliance standards.

Continuous Improvement: Actively seek and implement strategies to improve product design, production processes, and cost efficiency.
