As the managing director of the NanoLabTUe you are responsible for the day-to-day business operations in and around the cleanroom laboratory. Within this shared facility setting, you supervise a group of 13 technicians that ensure our research facility and service level is in optimal condition, that the capabilities stay state-of-the-art and that users get trained on the equipment. Your primary role is to be proactive and supportive towards the researchers and your technical team. Excellent management skills and a good overview of the research fields involved – with a lifelong learning attitude – are key. The managing director coordinates activities related to the acquisition, maintenance and exploitation of the equipment. Responsibilities include budget management in terms of controlling costs and generating internal and external revenue, safety management, and communication with the TU/e user groups and external parties. You will have a key role in the strategic investment plan by scouting new developments in nanofabrication and linking this to the needs of the user community.
