TNO’s Self-Sovereign Integration Lab offers a wide variety of internship, MSc and PhD-level assignments. Some assignments are practical: develop prototypes of a real societal use case based using SSI technologies (e.g. on skills, health, flexwork, defense, organisation-ID, product passport, …). Other assignments are more fundamental: develop architectures and implementations to integrate multiple SSI technologies, based on different standards (W3C, DIF, ToIP, OIDC, …), trust networks, or the (new) eIDAS regulation. The assignments cover many domains: security (what are the networked risks of SSI, and how to manage these), interoperability (how to interconnect SSI domains), citizen protection (e.g. technical and regulatory solutions to combat over-identification), business (upcoming SSI business ecosystems) and technical (developing application frameworks for SSI). Some assignments are carried out individually, whereas others are group assignments. In all cases, there will be a close connection with TNO’s scientific, applied and customer projects.
